Aviv Yeshayav

Born in Israel, Aviv spent his early childhood in New York City and settled in Canada at eleven, growing up just north of Toronto with his parents and two younger sisters.

After high school he enrolled in Honours Mathematical Physics at the University of Waterloo, set on becoming a theoretical physicist. In his first year, the arts pulled harder.

Classical music was all he listened to growing up. At twenty he started composing for the first time, and found the thing he was made for. Today he writes original theme music: the melody a series, film, game or brand is remembered by.

Origin

Da Vinci, the signature, and the name.

At seventeen, in the school library, a framed replica of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man hung on the wall above him. He noticed the signature in the corner, and designed his own on the spot.

The name The Aviv came to him while he drew it, and he has used it ever since. The Aviv and Da Vinci are both eight characters long.
